Using its long, bushy tail to keep its nose and feet warm while curling up to sleep, an arctic fox disappears in the snow except for a hint of its black eyes. Superbly adapted for life in subzero habitats, such as Nunavut, Canada, arctic foxes have white fur in the winter and gray-brown fur during summer, which provides effective camouflage throughout the year.
