Red-Billed Tropicbird, Islas Bocas del Toro, Panama. The beautiful light plumage of tropicbirds in flight creates a strking contrast to the deep blue skies. On land, the tropicbird presents a different image as it is ill equipped to walk far. I photographed this mother and chick on a steep slope they had to negotiate to find a suitable nest site.
