K2, Karakoram Range, Pakistan
Piercing 28,250 feet into the Earth's atmosphere, K2's majesty is exceeded only by Everest. Locally called Chogori, K2's odd moniker comes from the days of the British Raj, when it was the second peak in the Karakoram Range to be measured.
