A caravan of salt traders and camels heads to the ancient city of Timbuktu on the southern margin of the great desert. Once one of the most famous cities in the world, Timbuktu has served as a trading hub for hundreds of years. The traders harvest salt from a lake bed in the heart of the Sahara and transport it to the Timbuktu market.
